Running a Ton of Extension Cords
Lots of home offices don’t have enough power outlets to provide energy to all of their electronic devices.
Instead, they plug the devices into extension cords and run those cords to their desk. This is a mistake for a few reasons. For starters, having a ton of extension cords running across the office floor is a tripping hazard.
Another reason is that it could quickly cause a fire.
It is recommended that you have enough outlets necessary to power your devices. If the room only has one or two outlets in the wall, then you could have a pop up countertop receptacle installed.

Using Boxes (or Your Desk) to Store Files
Is it hard to locate your telephone because there are piles of files stacked on your desk?
Do you throw all of your paperwork into boxes only to go rummaging through them later looking for something important? Not having proper storage space in your office leads to clutter, disorganization, and slowed productivity.
You should invest in a filing cabinet for your office. If you can’t afford one, however, there are other feasible options.
They have plastic filing boxes where you can store hanging file folders and then stack the boxes on top of each other to maximize space. You can also purchase desk file organizers to keep your most important files closest to you.
